In the Universidad César Vallejo, Rubén coordinates the research department in the Piura campus. Upon adopting Turnitin in his institution, the number of research articles published by members of the institution has almost tripled.
Andrés was nominated by his professor Dariel Díaz Arce at the Unidad Educativa Santana in Ecuador. Dariel said Andrés’ academic writing, critical thinking and research skills improved greatly over the time he has had him as a student.
At the Unidad Educativa Santana in Ecuador, Dariel places an emphasis on developing abilities in students that encourage them to acquire knowledge on their own. He puts them in situations in which they have to research a variety of sources and bring this information to class for discussion in order to ultimately come to a conclusion about their quality.
As Communications Area Coordinator of TECSUP, Elisa implemented Turnitin to improve the efficiency of communication competencies in her students. The Peruvian institution focuses on developing “soft competencies” in students, such as teamwork, efficient communication, decision-making processes, and leadership.
Nominated for the award by his professor, Elisa Montoya Cantoral, TECSUP student Reider Hernández Huanca feels that using Turnitin in the classroom, coupled with his professor’s feedback, has helped him learn to effectively quote, paraphrase, write and present arguments.
